There is this music video for the new NIN single on the nin website. (direct link) I hate it. It drives like new pop rock. Given how poppy it is, the angry-faced drummer and the microphone tipping antics seem completely disingenuous. Do you have any idea how much it pains me to use the word disingenuous in the same sentence as NIN? I don't think you do. I don't think you realise how staunchly I have supported Trent Reznor's music as being one of the remaining bastions of genuine emotion in music.
This mix of this new song is pop and I hate it.
On the bright side, if the whole new album is like this, I'm really glad I didn't pay $150/ticket to go see one of their intimate performances.
How could it be so light-and-fluffy-opposite from the dark back-to-the-roots teaser they posted (and I blogged about) earlier.
Well, at least if the rest of the album is genius they have announced a Fall tour.

Somebody who made mention of my chopsticks blogging in their blog also is a huge NIN fan. Apparently he is a bit worried about the new material, too.
