Hey BoingBoing crowd hammering xoplcom right now. Thanks for coming.
So I'm flying the friendly skies tomorrow... security sure is going to be fun. I'm going to Vegas. Viva Las Vegas.
So. I'm wondering. While I've got you all here, can any of you suggest great places to play some Texas Holdem, see some... dancing, get good comp drinks.. etc. Places to eat. Any ideas would be appreciated. I want to show my brother a good time.
Thanks!

I just got back a few weeks ago from a conference out there. DRINK lots of water. Water is cheap (there is a CVS and a Walgreens on the strip). I decided to do shows instead of completely blowing my money and didn't regret it. If he has never been there just hitting the casinos at night is cool. There is just a heck of a eye candy (of ALL sorts).

Be sure to stop at the Bellagio! Gorgeous. I also loved the Venetian and the Luxor. Lots of kids around Excalibur, I didn't stay there long. Monte Carlo, MGM, NYNY were nice too. Caesar's Palace has the best shopping.
Stick to the strip and skip downtown Vegas. Unless you are going for that auth oldschool feeling (dingy Vegas). I know it will be hard for you to avoid Circus Circus--but it wasn't really worth it. The bar wasn't spinning or anything--boo!
I didn't play any poker while I was there; the ante was too high. Skip the slots, seriously, they are boring and will give you a headache. I highly rec Blackjack; that's where I won some cash. And what is that bingo-kinda game with the funny name... whatevs that was okay too, I won some money there.

hey not loadrunner - you can take insuline and a hypo if you're diabetic, you just have to have your actual prescription in your name with you. they may hold onto the hypo for you, and give it to you only when you need to take your injection, but they do not prohibit you from bringing it on the plane.

Bellagio, no better place to play cards. Off strip, the Orleans is good also, and try the Mirage.Peace

I can't blog about anything that happened in Vegas. So, to be sure, a good time was had by all.
