Christy posted this video link in the comments. It's important enough to merit a post I feel.

Google Video

The beginning of this video includes historical information about American military and intelligence actions, and includes real documents. Very interesting stuff.

There's a lot of really whack-job conspiracy theorist 9/11 videos on Google. The kind where they think that jets of smoke coming out of the windows of Towers 1 and 2 have nothing to do with hundreds of tons of steel collapsing above the windows. Unlike WTC7, where the owner himself said it was pulled (controlled demolition) on PBS... it is completely obvious to me that the tops of Towers 1 and 2 broke off and crushed the building below.

This video does go there, it would appear.... which I don't necessarily agree with. However, this particular video is one of the best produced and researched... with the beginning portion which includes the historical documents being especially good.

UPDATE: I still don't know how I feel about some of the claims made by this video. HOWEVER, I will say that most of what this video presents is from ORIGINAL SOURCES and they don't jump to conclusions. They largely leave it up to the viewer. I do highly recommend watching this video, as it is the most reasonable of the videos on the subject. And let's face it, presenting the case that our own government planned 9/11 is never going to be "reasonable" to most people.

Well, it's difficult to know how many of the suggestions he makes are valid, but I think it brings up some interesting questions.

I think the weirdest part of it was the Pentagon part, especially how the woman told about suits coming to talk to her. It might just be the FBI being idiots about it, but would you really trust the smoking man to tell you what happened on 9/11?

Dear Zach:

RE: Conspiracy Theory

You are going to turn into one of those cracked out obsessive conspiracy theorists who has stacks of papers and photos from garbages and doesn't leave the house for fear that the goverment is spying on him through UV Rays.

You should hang out with Stan. He loves conspiracy theories.

Dear paul,

Clearly the government is very interested in you for reading my blog. Enjoy the paranoia!

In all seriousness, I didn't completely agree with the video, but I do encourage you to actually watch this particular one before you go off dismissing the question entirely.

Oh, and:

"Watchin' X-Files with no lights on, in le maison, I hope the Smoking Man's in this one."

Crashing planes into the WTC is the kind of thing our government could so easily get away with if they really wanted to. That's just a fact. I really don't like to play the blame game though. Intelligence failure or machiavellian plot for world domination? Does it really make a difference?

coleco.pngxopl (#001)

I dunno though... our govt is so bad at keeping secrets and so incompetent, how could they have pulled off a huge 9/11 style plot without anybody leaking it?

(Arguably, people HAVE leaked it, and everybody calls them crazy. Maybe I just answered my own question.)

The secret is tinfoil underpants.

I really don't want to see the Reynold's Wrap commercial for tinfoil underpants. Please god no.

Wasn't there some study showing that tinfoil hats actually amplify certain frequencies into the brain?
